Welcome, here we shall begin.
If you’re reading this, I want you to know that this is quite a moment for me.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been reading and loving other people’s blogs and websites. It’s been a dream of mine to set up my own. For the longest time, my lack of confidence has held me back from pursuing this dream. As a writer with dyslexia and a woman who isn’t quite “skinny enough” (you get the gist), I’ve been waiting for that perfect day when it all comes together, the time is right, and everything is perfect. If you haven’t picked up on the sarcasm in this message, now’s the time to do so.
Perfectionism—watch this space if you’re reading this post a few years in, there may be a link to my research on this subject! It has been one of my biggest enemies because I simply am unable to reach my own standard of it. So with that, I decided to simply write this post, introduce myself, and press publish..
Hi my name is Cheryl, it’s great to meet you…..
Hi there! I’m Cheryl. I was born and raised in the Shetland Islands as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. While I no longer live in Shetland or practice as a Witness, both experiences have shaped who I am today. They form a significant part of my story, and I’m excited to share more with you as we embark on this journey together.
I am a neurodivergent woman with four kids and a very patient—though often confused—husband who tries to keep up with the unending musings, thoughts, and ideas that flow from my incredibly busy brain.
I wear many hats: I’m a coach, a home-educating mom, a supporting director in my husband’s construction company, and an administrator for my local church. I’m also working hard to complete my degree in Christian Leadership & Bible Theology—can you tell I’m a bit on the ADHD side? My life is undoubtedly busy, but I feel called to use my time wisely in this season. I’m blessed to have many wonderful examples of women before me, many of whom I’m sure I’ll discuss on these pages in the future.
So welcome, welcome, and welcome again! I’m thrilled that you’ve taken these few moments to check in. Please feel free to subscribe if you’d like to be notified of my future posts. I look forward to getting to know you all.
Lots of love
Cheryl xoxo
